XL7 overview

The XL7 is a crossover-styled version of the Ertiga with more ground clearance. In 2026 it is sold as the Hybrid Black Edition, launched alongside the Fronx in September 2025, in two versions: the GLX AT Black Edition at ₱1,259,000 and the GLX AT Two-tone Black Edition at ₱1,269,000. Visayas and Mindanao SRPs are ₱50,000 higher. Both share the same mechanical specifications, so the extra ₱10,000 pays for the two-tone paint.

It uses the Ertiga's 1,462 cc four-cylinder with 103 hp and 138 Nm, a 12-volt mild-hybrid system and a four-speed automatic, driving the front wheels. The XL7 is 4,450 mm long on a 2,740 mm wheelbase, with 200 mm of ground clearance and a 45-liter tank, and it seats seven. That clearance is the main reason to pick it over the Ertiga if your route includes flooded streets or rough barangay roads.

Its real competition comes from Toyota and Mitsubishi. The Toyota Veloz E CVT costs ₱155,000 less and has 205 mm of clearance with a CVT, and the Toyota Rush GR-S is ₱51,000 cheaper with 220 mm and rear-wheel drive. The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is the other obvious comparison. On SRP alone, the XL7 looks expensive, so ask for the cash discount and freebies first and compare the final numbers. Its strengths are a simple powertrain shared with the Ertiga, seven seats in a compact body and, if you value it, the mild-hybrid stop-start in traffic. Do not buy it expecting a full hybrid's fuel savings or electric driving.

Who it is for: Families who want seven seats, crossover looks and extra ground clearance in a compact footprint.
