Xpander Cross overview
The Xpander Cross is the Xpander dressed for the outdoors. MMPC sells one version, the 1.5G 2WD A/T with a two-tone finish, at ₱1,378,000 on the August 2026 price list. That is ₱109,000 more than the top Xpander GLS. Mechanically the two are close: the same 1.5-liter MIVEC gasoline engine, rated at 105 PS and 141 Nm, a four-speed automatic and front-wheel drive.
What the extra money buys, according to MMPC, is SUV-style body cladding and bumpers, roof rails and a 360-degree camera. MMPC quotes 225 mm of ground clearance and calls it best in class for an MPV. The seating is the same seven-seat layout as the regular Xpander, with a split middle bench and a folding third row, so it works as a daily family car and as a weekend car for trips to the beach or the mountains.
Is it worth the premium? It depends on how much you care about looks. On paper the Cross does not add power or four-wheel drive, so it will not climb a muddy trail any better than an Xpander, and it carries the same modest engine and old four-speed gearbox. The Xpander GLS already has the 360-degree camera and stability control, so the gap is mostly styling. Buyers who want a crossover feel with seven seats should also look at the Honda BR-V and Toyota Veloz, and at Mitsubishi's own Destinator GLX, which costs ₱11,000 more and brings a turbocharged engine and CVT. Also keep in mind that the Cross comes only as a two-tone automatic, so there is no cheaper manual or monotone version to fall back on.
Who it is for: Families who like the Xpander's space but want a more rugged look and are willing to pay about ₱110,000 extra for it.
