About Honda in the Philippines
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) was set up in November 1990 and for years built cars at its plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna. Production there ended in March 2020. Honda kept its sales and after-sales operations running, so every new Honda you see in a showroom today is imported. HCPI says its cars are sold through 41 dealerships nationwide.
The 2026 lineup is short and easy to read. The Brio hatchback is the entry point at ₱827,000. Next come the City sedan and City Hatchback, which got a refresh in October 2026, then the BR-V seven-seater, the Civic, the HR-V and the CR-V. At the top sits the Prelude, a two-door hybrid coupe priced at ₱3,498,000. Honda calls its full-hybrid system e:HEV, and you can get it in the Civic, HR-V, CR-V and Prelude.
Honda's strengths here are well known: efficient 1.5-liter engines, CVTs that suit stop-and-go traffic, and a big dealer network for parts and periodic maintenance. Honda SENSING driver aids are now standard on every City and City Hatchback, and on most of the range above them. The catch is price. Honda is rarely the cheapest car in its segment, so compare the full cash or financing quote, including LTO registration and insurance, and not just the SRP.

Which Honda models are hybrids, and are they exempt from number coding?
The Civic RS e:HEV, HR-V RS e:HEV, CR-V e:HEV trims and the Prelude are full hybrids. The DOE has said full hybrids and battery EVs are exempt from number coding under the EVIDA law (RA 11697). Before you rely on it, check that the model appears on the DOE's list of recognized electric vehicles.
