BR-V overview
The BR-V is Honda's answer to the seven-seat crossover MPVs that fill Filipino driveways. Zigwheels Philippines lists four trims in November 2026: 1.5 S MT at ₱1,090,000, 1.5 S CVT at ₱1,150,000, 1.5 V CVT at ₱1,295,000 and the 1.5 VX CVT Honda SENSING at ₱1,390,000. Every version uses a 1.5-liter i-VTEC with 121 PS (about 119 hp) and 145 Nm, driving the front wheels. The S is the only one with a manual.
On paper the BR-V's best number is its 207 mm ground clearance, which is more than many crossovers. That helps with flooded underpasses during the habagat and with rough provincial roads on the way home for Undas. The body is 4,490 mm long, so it still fits in a typical subdivision garage. The CVT trims run on 17-inch alloys, and only the VX gets Honda SENSING, which adds collision mitigation braking and road departure mitigation. Stability assist and hill start assist come on every trim, according to Zigwheels.
Buyers usually cross-shop it with the Toyota Veloz, Mitsubishi Xpander and Hyundai Stargazer. The BR-V's case rests on Honda's engine and dealer network and that extra clearance. Its weak points are the same as the rest of the class. A 1.5 with seven people and luggage on board will feel strained on long climbs like Kennon or Marcos Highway, and the third row is best for kids or short trips. If you'd use Honda SENSING on long highway runs, the VX is the trim to get. Otherwise the S CVT covers the basics for about ₱240,000 less.
Who it is for: Families who need seven seats on a budget and drive often on flood-prone or uneven roads.
