Ertiga overview

The Ertiga is Suzuki's seven-seat family car, sized and priced against the Toyota Avanza and the Mitsubishi Xpander. The lineup is down to two automatic versions of the second-generation model, both with Suzuki's mild-hybrid system: the GLX 1.5 AT Hybrid at ₱1,178,000 and the GLX 1.5 AT Sport Edition at ₱1,199,000. Visayas and Mindanao SRPs are ₱50,000 higher.

The 1,462 cc four-cylinder makes 103 hp and 138 Nm and drives the front wheels through a four-speed automatic. A 12-volt mild-hybrid system supports the engine and handles stop-start in traffic. The Ertiga is 4,395 mm long on a 2,740 mm wheelbase, with 180 mm of ground clearance, seven seats and a 45-liter tank, slightly larger than the Avanza's 43 liters. Both trims share the same mechanical package, and the Sport Edition costs ₱21,000 more, so ask the dealer what it adds.

The Ertiga's challenge in 2026 is price. With only the GLX versions listed, it starts higher than its main rival: the Toyota Avanza 1.5 G CVT costs ₱1,071,000, ₱107,000 less, with similar power and seven seats, and the Toyota Veloz E CVT is ₱74,000 cheaper. The Ertiga's case rests on its stop-start system, its familiar four-speed automatic and whatever the Suzuki dealer adds in promos, so ask for the cash discount before you compare. Its Suzuki sibling, the XL7, costs ₱81,000 more and adds 200 mm of ground clearance and crossover styling. For families who need seven seats on a budget and live on paved roads, either works; in flood-prone areas, the XL7's extra clearance is worth the money.

Who it is for: Families who want a seven-seat automatic MPV and get a better deal from their Suzuki dealer than from the Toyota alternatives.
