Stargazer overview

The Stargazer is Hyundai's seven-seat MPV for families who'd otherwise buy a Toyota Veloz or Mitsubishi Xpander. HMPH's October 2026 price list has four trims: 1.5 GL Plus at ₱1,118,000, 1.5 GLS IVT at ₱1,228,000, and two crossover-styled X versions, the 1.5 GLS Plus X IVT at ₱1,318,000 and the 1.5 Premium X IVT at ₱1,378,000. Every trim uses a 1.5-liter Smartstream engine with 115 PS (about 113 hp) and 144 Nm and an IVT automatic.

Hyundai's brochure claims a best-in-class 2,780 mm wheelbase. On paper, that should mean good legroom in the second and third rows for a car this size. The X trims are longer and taller (4,610 mm long, 190 mm ground clearance) than the regular ones (4,575 mm, 185 mm) and add tougher-looking bumpers and cladding. The brochure lists a 10.25-inch display, Hyundai SmartSense driver aids and six airbags on the higher trims, while the base trims have an 8-inch display and two front airbags. Check the spec sheet of your exact trim, because the difference in safety kit is large.

The 1.5 is fine for city errands and school runs. With seven people and bags on board, plan your overtakes on two-lane provincial roads, since 115 PS doesn't leave much in reserve. The 40-liter tank listed by Zigwheels is on the small side for long trips. Still, for a family that needs three rows and wants the most cabin space for the money, the Stargazer makes a strong case. If driver aids matter to you, a higher trim is worth the money, but confirm on the spec sheet which trims get SmartSense.

Who it is for: Families who need seven seats and a spacious cabin on a budget of about ₱1.1 million to ₱1.4 million.
