Soluto overview
The Soluto is Kia's entry-level sedan and one of the cheapest new sedans in the country. Kia Philippines' online price list for November 2026 shows two versions: the L MT at ₱748,000 and the L AT at ₱798,000. Both use a 1.4-liter Kappa engine with 95 PS (about 94 hp) and 132 Nm, paired with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic.
The numbers on Kia's brochure are those of a simple, practical budget car. The body is 4,300 mm long, the tank holds 43 liters, and ground clearance is 150 mm, a bit more than many subcompact sedans. Kia's June 2026 price list also had better-equipped LX AT and LX+ AT trims at ₱848,000 and ₱888,000, but they no longer appear on the website, so ask a dealer whether any are left in stock if you want the extra kit.
It makes the most sense for buyers who need a sedan's trunk and back seat on a hatchback budget, small businesses buying fleet cars, and drivers who prefer a traditional automatic to a CVT. The four-speed automatic is old-fashioned and won't be as efficient as newer CVTs on the highway, while the manual saves ₱50,000 and is easy to live with if your drive is mostly provincial roads. Rivals include the Toyota Vios, Nissan Almera and Suzuki Dzire, and the Honda Brio hatchback at a similar price. The Soluto's appeal is a low sticker price for a full-size trunk and simple mechanicals that should be easy to service. Ask for the spec sheet of the L trim, since the brochure online still describes the older LX and EX grades.
Who it is for: Budget-minded buyers and fleet operators who want a new sedan with a proper trunk for under ₱800,000.
