City overview
Honda Cars Philippines launched the updated City on October 17, 2026. The S and V kept their old prices at ₱998,000 and ₱1,083,000, and the RS tops the range at ₱1,178,000. All three use the same 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine with 121 PS (about 119 hp) and 145 Nm, paired with a CVT. Honda quotes 25.17 km/L from the 2021 Honda-AAP Eco Run, which is a best-case event figure, not a city average.
The update brings new 16-inch alloys, clear-lens taillights and a reworked headlight design. The RS adds a 10-inch display, rain-sensing wipers, Honda LaneWatch and an auto-dimming mirror. Every trim has Honda SENSING, which covers collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist. That matters on SLEX and NLEX, where long stop-and-go stretches wear drivers out. Read the spec sheet before choosing a trim, though. The S has no reverse camera listed, and only the RS gets curtain airbags. The S and V make do with front and side airbags.
The City has long been one of the default sedans for families, Grab drivers and young professionals, and the reasons are easy to see. The cabin and 4.6-meter body give real rear legroom, the engine is simple and proven, and Honda parts are easy to source in the provinces. Ground clearance is only 134 mm, so take it slow over flooded streets during typhoon season and over steep driveways. Paint matters for budget too: Urban Gray Pearl and Blazing Red Pearl cost ₱10,000 extra, and Platinum White Pearl adds ₱20,000. For most buyers the V hits the best balance, since it adds a camera without the RS price.
Who it is for: Commuters and small families who want a roomy, economical sedan with driver aids on every trim and a budget of about ₱1 million to ₱1.2 million.
