Zenix overview

The Zenix, sold in other markets as the Innova Zenix, is the newer and more car-like sibling of the Innova. Instead of the Innova's rear-drive diesel, it uses front-wheel drive with a gasoline or hybrid engine. Toyota lists two versions: the 2.0 V CVT at ₱1,676,000 and the 2.0 Q Hybrid CVT at ₱1,991,000. Platinum White Pearl Mica adds ₱15,000 to either. Toyota sells the Zenix and Innova side by side, and the right one depends on how you use the car.

The 2.0 V has a 1,987 cc gasoline engine with 172 hp and 205 Nm. The Q hybrid is listed at 183 hp and 188 Nm. Both use a CVT. In the hybrid, the electric motor helps most at low speeds, which is where Metro Manila driving happens. The Zenix is 4,755 mm long on a 2,850 mm wheelbase, 100 mm longer between the axles than the Innova. It seats seven, has 185 mm of ground clearance and a 52-liter tank.

At ₱1,991,000, the Q hybrid sits almost exactly where the Fortuner 2.4 V AT does (₱2,000,000), so the choice is about how you drive. The Zenix hybrid suits city families who spend hours in traffic and care more about cabin space than rough-road ability, and as a full hybrid it can get the green plate and number-coding exemption. The 2.0 V is ₱315,000 cheaper and a simpler way into the same body. If you often drive unpaved roads or tow, the Fortuner or the Innova diesel is the stronger tool.

Who it is for: City-based families who want a roomy seven-seater that drives like a car, with hybrid savings in traffic on the Q.
