Ativ overview
The Ativ is the next generation of the Vios under a new name. Toyota Motor Philippines launched it on October 13, 2025 and kept the old Vios on sale below it. It sits on the DNGA-B platform it shares with the Avanza and Veloz, measures 4,425 mm long and has a 2,620 mm wheelbase, 70 mm more than the Vios. Prices start at ₱916,000 for the 1.3 E manual and reach ₱1,198,000 for the 1.5 HEV, the cheapest full hybrid Toyota sells here.
There are three powertrains. The 1.3-liter, with 97 hp and 122 Nm, comes in the E trim with a manual (₱916,000) or a CVT (₱980,000). The 1.5 G CVT at ₱1,069,000 gets 105 hp and 138 Nm. The HEV pairs a 1.5-liter engine, listed at 90 hp and 121 Nm on its own, with an electric motor and a CVT. Like other Toyota full hybrids, it can move on battery power at crawling speeds, which is where it saves the most fuel in traffic. Ground clearance is 160 mm, 27 mm more than the Vios. Gas versions get a 40-liter tank and the hybrid a 36-liter one.
The 1.3 E CVT is the value pick for most commuters. The HEV costs ₱218,000 more, a gap that fuel savings alone take years to close. The stronger argument for the hybrid in Metro Manila is the number-coding exemption for DOE-certified hybrids with green plates, so confirm the plate process with the dealer. Paint adds cost too: Scarlet on the E and Platinum White Pearl on the G add ₱15,000, and two premium colors on the HEV add ₱10,000.
Who it is for: Sedan buyers who want newer engineering than the Vios, and city commuters who want a full hybrid for under ₱1.2 million.

Toyota Ativ FAQ
Is the Toyota Ativ the same as the Vios?
It is the Vios's successor. Toyota describes it as the next generation of the Vios nameplate, and the rear badge reads Vios Ativ, but Toyota Motor Philippines sells it as the Ativ next to the older Vios.
How much is the Toyota Ativ hybrid?
The 1.5 HEV CVT has an SRP of ₱1,198,000. Platinum White Pearl Mica or Attitude Black Mica paint raises it to ₱1,208,000.
Which Ativ is best for Metro Manila traffic?
Any CVT version spares you the clutch in stop-and-go traffic. The HEV uses the least fuel at crawling speeds and, once it has a green plate, can be exempt from number coding. On a tighter budget, the 1.3 E CVT at ₱980,000 is the sensible choice.
