Innova overview
The Innova is the diesel people-mover that Filipino families and fleet operators have bought for years, and Toyota Motor Philippines still builds it at its Santa Rosa, Laguna plant. The second-generation model (AN140) is now sold only with a 2.8-liter diesel. There are six versions: 2.8 J MT at ₱1,267,000, 2.8 XE AT at ₱1,381,000, 2.8 E AT at ₱1,535,000, 2.8 G MT at ₱1,604,000, 2.8 G AT at ₱1,674,000 and 2.8 V AT at ₱1,814,000. White Pearl Crystal Shine paint adds ₱15,000 on the G and V.
The 2,755 cc diesel is rated at 168 hp and 343 Nm with the five-speed manual, and 172 hp and 360 Nm with the six-speed automatic. Power goes to the rear wheels, a layout that copes well with heavy loads and steep provincial roads. The Innova is 4,735 mm long, with 167 mm of ground clearance and a 55-liter tank. The automatic adds 17 Nm over the manual. The base J is listed with eight seats; the top V has seven.
With the Zenix now in showrooms, the Innova has become the practical choice for people who haul loads, drive long distances on diesel or keep a vehicle for a decade. The XE AT at ₱1,381,000 is the cheapest automatic and a sensible family pick. Diesels like this one reward regular PMS and clean fuel, so budget for dealer servicing from day one. If you mostly drive in the city, price a Zenix too: its gasoline 2.0 V costs ₱1,676,000, close to the Innova G AT, on a newer front-drive platform.
Who it is for: Large families, small businesses and provincial buyers who want a diesel people-mover for heavy loads and long trips.
