Hilux overview

The Hilux moved to its ninth generation in the Philippines in 2026. Toyota revealed it at the Philippine International Motor Show in June, took reservations there, and started retail sales in July. The new range has seven diesel versions and a battery-electric one: 2.8 E 4x2 AT (₱1,772,000), 2.8 G 4x2 MT (₱1,798,000), 2.8 G 4x2 AT (₱1,849,000), 2.8 E 4x4 MT (₱1,903,000), 2.8 Conquest 4x2 AT (₱2,273,000), 2.8 V 4x4 MT (₱2,533,000), 2.8 Conquest 4x4 AT (₱2,611,000) and the BEV 4x4 (₱2,990,000). Emotional Red paint adds ₱20,000 on select versions.

The diesel is the familiar 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV turbodiesel, rated at 204 hp, with 420 Nm when paired with the six-speed manual and 500 Nm with the six-speed automatic. The BEV uses two electric motors for all-wheel drive and a 59.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, with a claimed 315 km of range on the NEDC cycle. Payload is quoted at up to one tonne for the diesel and 715 kg for the BEV, so the electric truck is better suited to light work and fleet use than to heavy hauling. AutoDeal lists the double cab at 5,320 mm long with an 80-liter tank.

Some price listings still show older 2.4-liter workhorse versions (Cab & Chassis at ₱891,000, J at ₱1,098,000, FX at ₱1,130,000 and J 4x4 at ₱1,320,000), but the new-generation launch price lists did not include them. Confirm which generation you are being quoted before you pay a reservation fee. For private buyers, the 2.8 G 4x2 AT at ₱1,849,000 covers most needs. A double cab is a family car and a cargo hauler in one, but at over five meters long, measure your garage and check subdivision parking rules first.

Who it is for: Farmers, contractors and families who need one pickup for work and weekend use; the BEV suits fleets and early adopters with depot or home charging.
