e Vitara overview
The e Vitara is Suzuki's first electric car in the Philippines, launched at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show. It comes in one version, the GLX EV, at ₱2,020,000. It is a compact crossover, 4,275 mm long with 180 mm of ground clearance and five seats, 280 mm longer than the Fronx and priced well above any gasoline Suzuki.
The Philippine car is front-wheel drive with a single motor rated at 128 kW (about 172 hp) and 193 Nm. The battery is a 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack with a claimed 475 km on the NEDC cycle. NEDC figures are optimistic, so expect less on the expressway with the air-conditioning on. AC charging runs at up to 7 kW through a Type 2 inlet, about nine hours from 10 to 100 percent, and DC fast charging through a CCS2 port takes about 45 minutes from 10 to 80 percent. A portable 2.3 kW Mode 2 charger with a 7.5 m cable comes with the car.
Sort out charging before you buy. A 7 kW wallbox at home or at work is the practical setup; the portable charger is slow and best for topping up overnight. As a battery EV, the e Vitara is covered by the EVIDA law's perks, including exemption from number coding, which is a real advantage if you drive into Metro Manila on weekdays. At ₱2,020,000 it competes with established EVs from BYD, Geely and Kia, so compare battery size, warranty terms and how close the nearest EV-capable service center is to you. LFP batteries are generally fine with regular charging to 100 percent, which suits owners who plug in every night.
Who it is for: Buyers ready to go electric who can charge at home or at work and mostly drive within Metro Manila or nearby provinces.
