Atto 3 overview
BYD's mainstream electric crossover, the Atto 3, comes in two variants here: the Dynamic at ₱1,638,000 and the Premium at ₱1,848,000. Both use a 204 PS (201 hp), 310 Nm front motor and reach 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The difference is the battery: 49.9 kWh with 410 km of quoted range in the Dynamic, and 60.5 kWh with 480 km in the Premium. BYD Philippines does not name the test cycle for either range figure.
The Atto 3 is 4,455 mm long with 150 mm of ground clearance and a 5.25-meter turning radius. The trunk holds 440 liters and grows to 1,340 liters with the rear seats folded. The Premium rides on 18-inch wheels with 235/50 tires and weighs 1,750 kg; the Dynamic uses 17-inch wheels with 215/60 tires and weighs 1,680 kg. Those taller Dynamic tires are the better match for potholed provincial roads.
The ₱210,000 step to the Premium mainly buys the bigger battery (70 km more quoted range) and bigger wheels. For drivers who stay within Metro Manila and nearby provinces, the Dynamic's 410 km is usually enough between home charges. Competition has grown, though. The Geely EX5 Max costs ₱1,799,000 with a 60.22 kWh battery and 215 hp, and BYD's own Atto 2 EV is ₱300,000 cheaper than the Dynamic. As an EV, the Atto 3 is exempt from number coding under the EVIDA law. Ask whether a home charger comes with the deal; if not, budget for one plus installation. The battery and motor are covered by BYD's 8-year or 160,000 km warranty.
Who it is for: Small families ready for an EV who want crossover practicality and can charge at home.
