BT-50 overview
The BT-50 is Mazda's pickup, built on the same base as the Isuzu D-Max and powered by a 3.0-liter turbo diesel rated at 187 hp and 450 Nm, per ZigWheels. Mazda Philippines' September 2026 list has three automatic versions: the 3.0L 4x2 AT at ₱1,600,000, the 3.0L 4x2 AT Sport at ₱1,880,000 and the 3.0L 4x4 AT Pangolin at ₱2,350,000. None of the three has a manual gearbox, only the Pangolin has 4x4, and all three seat five.
The Sport and Pangolin used to be add-on kits and are now separate variants. The Sport brings terracotta and black leather with suede, side steps, a front skid plate, tailgate assist, a 360-degree camera and all-weather floor mats. The Pangolin is the only 4x4 and adds a Revolver bed cover, a fashion bar, fender flares and a wireless charger on top of the camera and skid plate. In February the 4x4 cost ₱1,950,000 plus ₱100,000 for the Pangolin kit, so the package now costs ₱300,000 more.
That pricing puts the BT-50 4x4 in a tough spot, because Isuzu's own 3.0 4x4 D-Max LS-A MT Plus lists at ₱2,160,000 with the same basic engine. The plain 4x2 AT at ₱1,600,000 makes the most sense on paper: a 3.0 diesel automatic pickup for less than the D-Max 3.0 4x2 LS-A AT Plus at ₱1,880,000. ZigWheels lists 235 to 240 mm of ground clearance and a 76-liter tank, both useful for provincial roads and typhoon-season flooding. Mazda also lists no paint surcharges for the BT-50, which keeps the final price easy to compare.
Who it is for: Pickup buyers who want a proven 3.0 diesel and an automatic, in Mazda styling and through Mazda's dealer network.
