Palisade Hybrid overview
The second-generation Palisade is Hyundai's flagship SUV, and in the Philippines it's sold only as a hybrid. HMPH lists a single trim, the HEV Calligraphy 6AT AWD, at ₱4,010,000 (October 2026 price list). HMPH quotes 334 PS and 422 Nm for its 2.5-liter turbo hybrid system and claims up to 1,015 km on a tank, though it adds that consumption varies with conditions.
This is a big vehicle. Zigwheels lists it at 5,080 mm long with 187 mm of ground clearance and seven seats. HMPH's hybrid page describes several tricks built around the electric motor: it uses the motor to reduce pitching over speed bumps, applies torque vectoring through the brakes and motor in corners, and has a stay mode that runs the climate control and media without starting the engine for about 25 to 40 minutes. That last one is handy if you're waiting in the car outside a school or a church in the heat.
At ₱4 million the Palisade has few direct rivals in the Philippines. The obvious alternatives are the Kia Carnival hybrid if you can live with a van, the Kia EV9 and Hyundai's own Ioniq 9 if you're ready for an electric three-row SUV, and the Santa Fe Calligraphy HEV if you want a similar hybrid setup for about ₱680,000 less. The Palisade's case is space, comfort and a long range on a tank without needing to charge. As a full hybrid, it should also fall under the DOE's number coding exemption. Just make sure it fits your garage and your usual parking spots before you sign.
Who it is for: Large families who want a full-size, luxurious seven-seat SUV with hybrid efficiency and no need to charge.
