Sealion 7 overview
The Sealion 7 is BYD's newest electric SUV in the Philippines. It was previewed at MIAS 2026 and joined BYD's price list in May 2026, as one all-wheel-drive version at ₱2,588,000. Two motors make a combined 530 PS (523 hp) and 690 Nm, and BYD quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The 82.6 kWh Blade Battery is rated at 542 km of range, though BYD does not state the test cycle for that figure.
It is 4,830 mm long with 163 mm of ground clearance and a 5.9-meter turning radius. BYD lists up to 1,789 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded, 20-inch wheels and ventilated, drilled front brakes. Curb weight is 2,340 kg, so tires and brakes work hard, and replacements for 20-inch wheels are not cheap. Budget for them in your running costs. Suspension is double wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. BYD lists 310 Nm for the front motor and 380 Nm for the rear one, and five seats.
On paper the Sealion 7 is the family-friendly sibling of the Seal Performance: the same battery size and similar power, but a taller body and more cargo room, for ₱60,000 less. Rivals include the Geely EX5, which is far cheaper but much less powerful, and gasoline midsize SUVs like the Mazda CX-60. As an EV it is exempt from number coding. Charging an 82.6 kWh battery at home needs a proper wall charger, so factor in installation and check if your condo allows it before you buy. The battery and motor warranty runs 8 years or 160,000 km, and the vehicle warranty 6 years or 150,000 km.
Who it is for: Buyers who want a fast, roomy electric SUV for family use and can install a home wall charger.
