Livina overview

The Livina is Nissan's seven-seat MPV, and it is closely related to the Mitsubishi Xpander. Philkotse notes that it uses the same 1.5-liter engine. Nissan's October 2026 price guide lists two automatic versions: VE AT at ₱1,214,000 and VL AT at ₱1,274,000. The Livina product page on nissan.ph still shows an older starting price of ₱1,094,000, so go by the price guide and confirm with the dealer.

The 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine makes 103 hp and 141 Nm according to Philkotse, and it is paired with a four-speed automatic driving the front wheels. The Livina is 4,510 mm long, a bit shorter than the Xpander, and Philkotse puts the tank at about 45 liters. Nissan advertises various seven-seat configurations, a long wheelbase and high ground clearance, plus 12V sockets and several USB ports for passengers.

So why buy a Livina instead of an Xpander? Mainly styling, the Nissan dealer you prefer, or a better deal on the day. Price-wise the two overlap: the Livina VE AT sits between the Xpander GLX A/T (₱1,159,000) and the Xpander GLS A/T (₱1,269,000), and the Livina VL AT costs slightly more than the Xpander GLS. Compare the equipment lists line by line, especially screens, cameras and stability control, before deciding. The weak points are the same as the Xpander's: an old four-speed automatic and an engine that works hard with seven people and luggage on long uphill drives. Also on the shortlist should be the Toyota Veloz and Suzuki Ertiga. Ask both Nissan and Mitsubishi dealers for their best cash and financing offers, since twins often compete on price.

Who it is for: Families who need seven seats on a budget and prefer a Nissan dealer, or who get a better offer on the Livina than on its Xpander twin.
