Kicks e-POWER overview
The Kicks e-POWER is Nissan's small hybrid crossover, which Nissan now markets as the All-New Kicks e-POWER after its 2026 update. Nissan's October 2026 price guide lists three trims: VE at ₱1,549,000, VL at ₱1,699,000 and LE Plus at ₱1,799,000. Premium paint colors add ₱20,000.
e-POWER works differently from a typical hybrid. The 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine never turns the wheels. It runs as a generator, charging a small battery, while an electric motor rated by Nissan at 136 PS and 280 Nm drives the front wheels. You get the instant pull of an electric car in traffic without a charging cable, which suits stop-and-go commuting in Metro Manila. Zigwheels lists the Kicks at 4,300 mm long with 180 mm of ground clearance and a 41-liter tank, figures for the pre-facelift car that should be close. Nissan also includes NissanConnect Services, which allows remote engine start and vehicle monitoring through a phone app, and it advertises extended maintenance coverage for the Kicks e-POWER, so ask what the package includes.
The catch is price. At ₱1,549,000 for the VE, the Kicks costs more than gasoline crossovers of the same size, and you need a lot of kilometers in traffic for the fuel savings to cover the gap. It is also a five-seater with a compact cabin, so it's better for couples and small families than for carpooling. The VL is a sensible starting point; check what the LE Plus adds before paying another ₱100,000. Test it against the Toyota Yaris Cross, the Honda HR-V and Mitsubishi's Xforce, and ask the dealer how the hybrid battery warranty is structured before you sign.
Who it is for: City commuters who sit in heavy traffic daily and want electric-drive smoothness and low fuel use without needing a charger.
