Coolray overview
The Coolray is the model that brought Geely back to the Philippines in 2019, and the facelifted version is still the brand's core product. ZigWheels lists four variants for November 2026: Comfort Plus at ₱989,000, Premium Plus at ₱1,049,000, Sport Plus at ₱1,149,000 and Sport Plus Light Gray at ₱1,179,000. Each is ₱150,000 below the prices Geely announced in February 2025.
Every Coolray uses the same 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder, rated by Geely at 128 kW (172 hp) and 290 Nm, with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive. Geely claims 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and 5.8 liters per 100 km. That is quick for a subcompact crossover. Geely also lists ventilated seats, blind-spot detection and six airbags among the features, so check which ones your chosen variant gets. There are four drive modes, including a Smart mode that Geely says adapts to your driving and the road.
The dual-clutch gearbox is the part to test carefully. A DCT shifts quickly on the open road but can feel less smooth at walking pace, and Metro Manila traffic is mostly walking pace. The Coolray is 4,380 mm long with 180 mm of ground clearance, so it parks easily and copes with moderate flooding. Ask for the variant comparison sheet: the ₱190,000 spread between the Comfort Plus and the Sport Plus Light Gray buys equipment, not more power. Geely dealers often add discounts on top of the listed price, so get quotes from two dealers before you commit. A short drive on a crowded street will tell you more about the gearbox than any brochure.
Who it is for: Buyers who want a quick, well-equipped subcompact crossover for about ₱1 million and are fine with a dual-clutch gearbox.
