Destinator overview

The Destinator arrived in the Philippines in late 2025 as Mitsubishi's new seven-seater, slotting between the Xpander and the Montero Sport. MMPC's August 2026 list has three trims and four prices: GLX at ₱1,389,000, GLS at ₱1,599,000 and GT at ₱1,929,000, or ₱1,939,000 with a two-tone roof. Every version uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (the 4B40) rated by MMPC at 163 PS and 250 Nm, a CVT and front-wheel drive.

It is a monocoque crossover, not a ladder-frame SUV, so think of it as a bigger, more powerful alternative to an MPV. It is 4,680 mm long according to Zigwheels, and MMPC quotes 214 mm of ground clearance (measured with the engine cover), which it pitches for light floods and road obstacles. The tank holds 45 liters. Top Gear Philippines lists a panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a Yamaha sound system.

For many families the GLX is the interesting one. At ₱1,389,000 it costs only ₱11,000 more than an Xpander Cross but brings a turbo engine with about 55 percent more power and a CVT instead of a four-speed automatic. The GT, on the other hand, gets close to diesel Montero Sport and Ford Everest territory, and those offer body-on-frame toughness and, in some trims, four-wheel drive. The Destinator has no diesel or 4WD option, so it suits paved roads and gravel better than real off-roading. Quartz White Pearl paint adds ₱15,000. As with any new model, ask about the warranty terms and the parts supply at your nearest dealer.

Who it is for: Families who need seven seats and want more power and comfort than an MPV without paying for a diesel ladder-frame SUV.
