Ranger Raptor overview

The Ranger Raptor is the desert-racer version of the Ranger, developed by Ford Performance. In the September 2026 lineup reported by Top Gear Philippines, it comes in one form: the 3.0L V6 Twin-Turbo EcoBoost 4x4 at ₱2,879,000. Ford's July 2026 price list also showed a 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo diesel Raptor at ₱2,645,000, but that version is missing from the new lineup, so ask dealers whether any diesel units remain.

The V6 is a gasoline engine, and Top Gear lists 392 hp and 583 Nm (Ford quotes 397 PS). It drives all four wheels full-time through a 10-speed automatic. What sets the Raptor apart is the suspension: double wishbones up front and a Watt's link coil-spring rear, with Fox Live Valve internal-bypass shocks at both ends, the rear ones with external reservoirs. It rides on 17-inch wheels with 285/70 R17 tires. The truck is 5,381 mm long and 2,028 mm wide, with 275 mm of ground clearance. Inside are a 12.4-inch digital cluster, a 12-inch touchscreen, a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen system and sports seats front and rear.

Living with one in the Philippines takes some planning. A gasoline V6 in a heavy pickup will cost noticeably more to fuel than the diesel Rangers, especially in city traffic. At 2,028 mm wide, it is a tight fit in older mall parking slots and narrow village roads. It is also ₱270,000 more than the Wildtrak-X, which now has its own V6 (a 247 hp diesel), Bilstein shocks and all-terrain tires. Buy the Raptor if you will actually use its long-travel suspension on trails, sand or rough provincial roads. For most other buyers, the Wildtrak-X makes more sense. The Toyota Hilux and the top Mitsubishi Triton are the closest alternatives in this guide, though neither matches the Raptor's output.

Who it is for: Enthusiasts who will use a fast off-road pickup on trails or sand and can live with gasoline V6 fuel bills.
