Mustang overview
The seventh-generation Mustang is sold in the Philippines as a fastback coupe in two versions. Ford's July 2026 price list has the 2.3L EcoBoost Premium SelectShift AT at ₱3,506,000 and the 5.0L GT Premium SelectShift AT at ₱4,006,000, and the same starting prices were still on Ford's site in August 2026. Both are automatics; there is no manual in the local lineup, and the price list shows only the fastback body, with no convertible.
Zigwheels lists 315 hp and 475 Nm for the turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder, and 486 hp and 567 Nm for the 5.0-liter V8 in the GT. Both send power to the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic. The car is 4,811 mm long, seats four, and has 143 mm of ground clearance. That number matters here: steep condo ramps, tall speed humps and flooded streets during the habagat all need care, and a low front lip is easy to scrape.
The ₱500,000 gap between the two is mostly about the engine. The EcoBoost should be cheaper to fuel and insure. The GT is for buyers who want the V8 sound and character and accept the fuel bills that come with it. The back seats are best used for children or bags, so treat the Mustang as a second car rather than the family's only vehicle. Before signing, ask the dealer about the comprehensive insurance premium, since it scales with the car's value, and about parts lead times for an imported model. Neither version is a sensible daily commuter for long EDSA crawls, but as a weekend car on open provincial roads it makes more sense.
Who it is for: Enthusiasts who want a rear-drive American coupe as a weekend or second car and can live with its size and low clearance.

- Distinctive design with strong brand appeal
What to consider
- 143 mm ground clearance is low for Philippine roads
- Rear seats are tight, so it works best as a second car
